Join us as we discuss Give Us the Ballot: The Modern Struggle for Voting Rights in America by Ari Berman, a narrative history of the transformation of American Democracy under the Voting Rights Act and the counterrevolution that has sought to limit voting rights, from 1965 to the present. Give Us the Ballot provides new insight into one of the most vital political and civil rights issues of our time.

Pikes Peak Political Readers Book Club. At this meeting we will discuss We Rise by Xiuhtezcatl Martinez, a 16-year-old climate activist from Boulder, CO. We Rise explores many aspects of effective activism and provides step-by-step information on how to start and join solution-oriented movements and an action guide on how to face the biggest problems of today, including climate change, fossil fuel extraction, and industrial agriculture.
